Terms of Use

Effective October 12, 2026. These terms apply to Run to Obtain at runtoobtain.com. Questions can be submitted through our contact form.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 to create an account. Participants ages 13–17 should have a parent or guardian’s permission. Under-13 and parent-managed accounts are not supported. Provide your actual name for account identification, choose an appropriate runner nickname, provide accurate age information, keep your password private, and do not impersonate someone else.

Event participation

Run to Obtain complements your existing activity tracker. Distances are entered manually or filled in from an optional screenshot and remain self-reported. Image reading can make mistakes; review and confirm all extracted details before saving. Choose activity appropriate for you, follow your school and organizer’s rules, and stop when you need rest or help. The site does not supervise exercise or provide medical advice. Participation is free and donations never affect standings.

Event codes are intended for the organizer’s group. Do not publish or misuse them. Activity counts toward joined events whose dates match. Organizers may close events and freeze standings; later activity changes do not change final standings. Contact the organizer or site support about errors or disputed results. No prize or ranking accuracy is guaranteed by the platform.

Conduct and organizer responsibilities

Nicknames appear on runner pages, event leaderboards, and shared support pages, and may be rejected or removed if inappropriate. Actual names remain tied to accounts for identification and administrator review. Actual names are self-reported; collecting a name does not verify identity. No student messages, comments, cheers, or direct messages are offered. Do not use nicknames or other fields to harass people, disclose private information, or circumvent these limits. Do not submit false mileage, abusive content, or material you lack permission to share.

Adult organizers are responsible for event dates, descriptions, appropriate participation, invitation distribution, and the accuracy and rights to devotional content they publish. Do not put student names, contact details, or invitation codes in public event descriptions. Organizer content must not misrepresent FCA authorization. Run to Obtain may restrict accounts or remove content for misuse.

Representatives and optional giving

Representatives must be adults authorized to act for the stated ministry and donation recipient. Fundraising requires profile approval and completed Stripe onboarding. Stripe’s applicable terms govern its payment services. Recipients manage payouts and refunds; processing fees may apply. Run to Obtain does not guarantee tax deductibility or endorsement of every organizer. Do not imply national FCA sponsorship without authorization.

Runner pledges

Adult supporters may save one pledge per runner per event: a fixed gift or a per-mile rate with a maximum total. A saved pledge is not a payment. Fixed gifts can be paid immediately; per-mile gifts use the full event mileage frozen by the organizer, including miles logged before the pledge. Supporters return to My pledges to review and pay; cards are not charged automatically and no payment reminder emails are sent. Per-mile totals below $1 require no payment. Unpaid pledges can be cancelled before payment checkout begins. After checkout begins, check your payment status or contact the recipient about cancellation or refunds. The event recipient is fixed; funds go to that recipient, not the runner. Participation remains free.

Game events and team pledges

Structured events use fixed team assignments. Only activities entered after team selection, dated within the event, count. Organizers review and close events after the final day, freezing individual, team, and round results. Team names and aggregate scores are public on the event link; private invitation codes control joining. Faceoff supports total miles or five rounds; five-round events last at least seven days. Round ties split a point and tied final scores share the win.

Parents vs. Kids and King of the Huddles offer adult-only loser-conditional pledges. All participating teams’ miles are divided equally among losing teams; each supporter’s per-mile rate applies to their backed team’s share up to their cap. Fixed gifts are due only if that team loses. Tied leaders are exempt, and a zero-mile event creates no loser-only obligation. Each pledge is separate. Kids never owe payments. Other game pledges are based on the chosen team and are due regardless of the winner. All funds support the selected FCA recipient, not a prize pool.

Match Challenge donors explicitly authorize saving a card with Stripe and one automatic charge after the rep freezes the huddle’s final mileage: agreed dollars per mile, up to the agreed maximum. This includes eligible miles logged before the pledge. Card setup must complete before an automatic payment can proceed. Declines or bank authentication can require the donor to finish payment in My pledges. Other team pledges are manually paid after closure. A pledge is not money received; totals below $1 require no payment. Team pledges can be cancelled before closure, after which the recipient handles payment issues and refunds.

Independent rewards and availability

The platform offers no merchandise, shipping, or rewards catalog. Any shirts or prizes arranged by a representative are their responsibility outside the service. Features may change or be unavailable temporarily. Keep your own records of important activity and payments.

Privacy and contact

Our Privacy Policy explains information collection, visibility, retention, and requests. Contact the team to report a concern or request account help. These terms do not remove rights you have under applicable law.
